Engineer Daniel Murenzi

Eng. Murenzi Daniel is the Principal Information Technology Officer for the East African Community (EAC) and Project Coordinator for the Eastern Africa Regional Digital Integration Project, with over 22 years of experience in ICT and an MSc in Communication Management. He has led major digital transformation initiatives across sectors such as telecom, health, fintech, trade, agriculture, customs, e-government, and cybersecurity, and previously served as e-Health and Informatics Officer at EAC and Director of ICT at Rwanda’s Ministry of Health. Daniel has spearheaded projects in digital health, regional integration, and ICT enterprise solutions, playing a key role in the development of the EAC Digital Transformation Strategy, Single Digital Market, and Data Governance Framework. A seasoned project manager and advisor, he excels in strategic planning, resource mobilization, and fostering public-private partnerships.

Beyond his professional work, he co-founded Kayonza Parents School, reflecting his passion for education and community empowerment.
